Beaches are the best spot to spend time with your family and relax once in a while in your busy lives. Most of the beaches we visit to relax are known for their views and light-coloured sand, but there is one beach that is famous for its pink sands and is the best place to be if you want to spend some time away from the world.
This island is called Eleuthera, located east of Nassau, in the Bahamas, Caribbean. Only two miles wide, the island is thin and 110 miles long, with sands on either side and the speciality of these sands is that it’s pink in colour. It is popularly known as the Pink Sand Beach or the French Leave Beach. To go around the place, visitors need to hire a car.
Surprisingly, this pink beach is not crowded with a hundred of tourists as one would imagine, however, if you are lucky enough on your visit, you might stumble upon some Hollywood A-listers. Celebrities like Eddie Murphy, Tyler Perry, Sandra Bullock, Lennie Kravitz, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill own properties at this place. In 2006, actress Cameron Diaz rented a resort for a friend’s bachelorette party, George Clooney and Mariah Carey were also spotted.
The island’s local population is only around 11,000. Eleuthera is also famous for its pineapple farming. So, if you plan to go there, you can visit the pineapple farms planted by Princess Diana in 1974.
