SUV With Police Beacon Seized After Man's Stunt Video Goes Viral

The rash driving cases continue to increase across Delhi-NCR. Following the emergence of social media, many youngsters have now started to create content featuring their driving skills. However, in their pursuit of capturing attention, some neglect traffic regulations and safety precautions. This sort of carelessness can result in horrific accidents, causing inconvenience to other cars as well as commuters.

To battle these issues, several state governments have set up more checkposts on highways and busy roads. Officers stationed at these places keep a strict check on the traffic flow and take action against drivers breaching the laws. Thanks to this effort, a team of Delhi Police recently managed to locate a man, who was seen performing deadly stunts along the Najafgarh-Rajouri Garden route in a video going viral on social media.

The officers could also seize the car the man was driving. It was a white SUV, which had a police beacon on the top. The person tried to hide the identity of the vehicle by removing its number plates from both ends. But his reckless driving was captured on CCTV and the footage helped the police department to identify the culprit and the car.

The news agency ANI shared the viral video on X (formerly Twitter) with details of the incident. The clip opens on a busy road near the Rajouri Garden metro station where a white Fortuner is seen taking unpredictable turns. The front door of the four-wheeler was open and a person seated in the driver’s seat was smiling and waving at the camera. It looked like a scene from a movie of the Fast and Furious franchise.

The caption of ANI’s post read, “A complaint by RWA Rajouri Garden was received at PS Rajouri Garden, highlighting reckless driving and stunts by certain vehicles. The police took cognizance of that and that led to the registration of FIR under section 279 of the IPC. Further investigations are underway to apprehend the individual.”

After the footage surfaced on X, many viewers expressed their concern over rash driving and such kind of dangerous activities on roads. One of them labelled it as “Real-life GTA” and said, “They must be punished and need to set an example.”

A user demanded “more stringent sections” against the accused individual as he is “endangering the lives of the others on the road, not just his own life.”

“He made emergency light over vehicle; make one another case also,” said another viewer.

Since being shared, the video has garnered more than 5 lakh views on the microblogging platform.
