When travelling, many passengers pre-book their seats to avoid any potential discomfort during their journey. Travellers prefer window seats in particular for the stunning views and the extra comfort they offer. Some travellers are even willing to pay extra to secure this preferred spot. However, what happens when the pre-booked seat doesn’t live up to expectations?
Recently, a passenger took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share her unusual experience while flying with the popular airline, Ryanair. Gabi’s tweet read, “Finally happened to us, booked a window seat with no window. Such an incredible experience. Thanks @Ryanair.” Accompanying her tweet was a snapshot of a man sitting in a window seat, staring out what should have been a window but instead found nothing but a blank wall, perfectly highlighting the irony of the situation.

Gabi’s sarcastic remark didn’t just capture the attention of the online users but it also drew a cheeky response from the airline. In a cleverly worded reply to Gabi’s post, Ryanair quoted her post and quipped, “staring at it won’t change it.”

This banter sparked significant attention from the online world, amassing over 390,000 views and a plethora of remarks in the comment section.
A user wrote, “There’s at least some window there, what do you expect. You pay 1/3 for a flight, you get 1/3 of a window.” Another commented, “It’s a Boeing, so you are never sure until you land.”
Many seized the opportunity to add their own funny remarks to the situation. “You guys should really just draw a window there, ideally in crayon. Thank me later,” one commentor jokingly suggested. Another comment read, “At least it’s not a door plug.”
Sharing their own experience, one user recounted, “I ordered one window and I got two.”
Among these witty remarks, some even praised the airline for its humourous response. “Whoever runs your social media page deserves both a raise AND a promotion because your page is absolutely FUNNY AS HELL!!” applauded one user. Another chimed in, saying, “You can’t be angry at @Ryanair with this comeback. Oh now.”
Ryanair, known for its witty and sarcastic social media presence, once jokingly responded to a video showcasing a passenger using a ‘flashy’ charger. The airline reshared the clip with a witty caption, “And this is why we don’t have plugs.”
