'Piece of Junk': Indian YouTuber's Rant on Broken Ola Scooter Worth Rs 1.75 Lakh Goes Viral on X
Indian YouTuber criticises Ola in viral thread after his scooter, worth Rs 1.75 lakhs, stopped working.

An Indian YouTuber recently took to social media to express his frustration with his non-functional Ola scooter, highlighting the problems he faced without any positive experiences. Rishabh Jain shared his journey with Ola after purchasing the Ola S1 Pro for a hefty Rs. 1,75,000.

“Buying this piece of junk, the OLA S1 Pro, was the worst decision ever,” he began. He explained how his father, an enthusiast for new technology, bought the scooter six months ago, but it started having issues immediately. “In 6 months and driving less then 1000km, the electric scooter has started giving all sorts of troubles.Every other day the screens stops responding and the bike needed to reset. It takes 5-6 minutes just to start the damn thing.”

He expressed his frustration about the problem occurring twice and how the service care executive’s visit didn’t solve anything. They also hadn’t received the RC book.

“Now the scooter does not even start, there is no option of pickup or mechanic home visit to app. The service center is few km away, how we are supposed to bring a non functioning vehicle to the service center?” he ended, disappointed that the scooter didn’t meet his father’s expectations and criticising Ola further.

The thread quickly gained traction, with others sharing their negative experiences. “Worst decision.. I purchased in dec 2022 and now battery didn’t work and from last 1 month it is in service station.. Too much bad service,” commented one user. “I’m also facing issues with my Ola s 1 pro gen 2, but not a satisfactory response from the customer service.  Bad build quality. Worst experience so far owning a ola,” expressed another.

Later, Rishabh, who runs the YouTube channel Labour Law Advisor, updated that after the tweet went viral, Ola contacted him and immediately came to his rescue. They even provided him with a temporary scooter until they repaired his non-functional one.

In the end, Rishabh said, “I finally got my vehicle back! After delivery, I received a call from OLA’s Head of After Sales (Jitesh) and CMO (Anshul). They personally apologised for the inconvenience my father faced. I truly appreciate the concern and efforts shown by OLA’s leadership, even at odd hours.”

Since its posting, the thread has garnered a whopping two million views on the platform.
