Look: YouTube Sends Super Special 200 Million Subscribers Award To MrBeast
MrBeast is the the most-subscribed individual and second most-subscribed channel on YouTube with 243 million subscribers as of March 2024.

MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, is arguably one of the most popular YouTubers in the world right now. As of March 2024, he is the most-subscribed individual and second most-subscribed channel on YouTube with 243 million subscribers. Recently, Donaldson shared that he got a special creator award from YouTube. On Tuesday, he shared a photo of himself and his friends holding the massive trophy that was shaped like his channel’s logo and wrote, “YouTube sent us this 200,000,000 subscriber award.” His Instagram post got over 3.2 million likes.

This is not the first time that MrBeast has been honoured by YouTube. On July 28, 2022, he got YouTube’s Red Diamond award which is given to creators when they reach 100,000,000 subscribers. So far, only nine channels have the Red Diamond award. Three Indian channels also have the Red Diamond Award: T-Series (May 29, 2019), SET India (March 28, 2021), and Zee Music Company (September 24, 2023).

YouTube describes the creator awards as “our way of recognizing the extraordinary effort creators put into their growing channels and to build thriving communities, responsibly.” Till now, there are four official creator awards.

The first one is the Silver play button, which is given to creators after reaching 100,000 subscribers. The golden play button is given to creators that reach 1,000,000 subscribers. The diamond award is given to those who surpass 10,000,000 subscribers. It is shaped like YouTube’s play button and made of colourless crystal. The highest ‘official’ creator award listed by YouTube is the Red Diamond award which one gets after surpassing 100,000,000 subscribers. With the 200 million subscriber award, it appears that YouTube went out of its way to honour MrBeast’s rare achievement.

In the last two to three years, MrBeast has made several world records. On August 8, 2023, MrBeast’s video titled ‘7 Days Stranded At Sea’ made the Guinness World Record for the most-watched non-music video in 24 hours. The video, which showed MrBeast and his friends trying to survive on a raft for seven days, got 46 million views in just 24 hours.

On July 6, 2023, Donaldson made history after he became the first person to get 1 million followers on Threads. This happened just a day after Threads was launched. The 25-year-old YouTube gathered an unprecedented YouTube fanbase with the mix of several factors such as his high-budget productions, bizarre ideas, and philanthropic acts.
