In Spine-Chilling Video, Man Records The Moment He Broke His Neck In Paragliding Accident
YouTuber and paramotor pilot Anthony Vella broke his right arm, neck, back and pelvis after his aircraft malfunctioned 100ft in the sky.

Paragliding is one of the most sought-after adventure activities among thrill-seekers. Flying in the air, several metres above the ground is a wholesome experience indeed. But there is no denying the risks associated with the sport. Instances of paragliders encountering dangerous accidents have been many. In one such horrific paragliding incident, a YouTuber and paramotor pilot suffered grievous injuries that almost took his life when his aircraft crashed to the ground. His near-death experience was caught on camera and the visual footage is now spreading like wildfire on online platforms.

According to a report by the Mirror, Anthony Vella was testing a BGD Luna 3 aircraft. He was hovering 100ft in the sky, flying above the Enchanted Rock State Park in Arizona. Vella is known to record his paragliding experience and share the videos on YouTube. He was capturing the aircraft testing on his device this time too. The horrifying visual footage captured the aircraft with Vella in it turning midway in the air and collapsing on the rocky road below. Things turned disastrous when Vella realised he was badly wounded. The clip showed the paraglider screaming in pain as he hurtled to the ground at 50MPH.

An X-user shared a part of Anthony Vella’s paragliding crash YouTube video on the microblogging platform. In the write-up, the individual revealed that Vella broke his neck and back, fracturing his pelvis and right arm. The clip showed Vella screaming in pain and commanding Siri to call 911 to help him get medical attention. Later in the YouTube video, Vella shared that the accident was caused by “missing a small pension knot" during the pre-takeoff checkups.

Reacting to the video, one user wrote, “Miracles are real… The dude lived to tell his story." “That was terrifying to watch! He is going to be on a long recovery path with the type of injuries he suffered, he is lucky to be alive. I pray he has a speedy path to recovery," wished another. A third concerned individual pointed out, “Anyone else notice how long it took for 911 to pick up?"

The X-video amassed over 13.6 million views. Anthony Vella is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital, reported Mirror.
