India lifted the T20 World Cup trophy after a thrilling victory against South Africa in Barbados, West Indies. Since winning the title on June 29, celebrations don’t seem to end, as social media is flooded with creative edits of the historic moment. Recently, Mumbai hosted a victory parade in Marine Drive, where the Rohit Sharma-led team greeted fans from an open bus, which ended at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. While some might get tired after seeing constant edits on their timelines, there’s a section of the internet, including stand up comedian Zakir Khan, who are supporting and enjoying these edits. Taking to Instagram, Khan encouraged fans to continue creating and sharing their edits, and his idea resonated with many.
In the video, the comedian said, “What I was saying is, for the past 4 days, the whole day goes into watching the edits of India’s World Cup win. Then I’ve been watching the grand welcome since morning and this continues all day. So I want to say, make more. I’ll watch them, I have the capacity. For the next two months, I’ll be watching only this. Editors, your hands should not stop. I want to see everything, from 2003, 2019 to 2023, I’m living with all those memories.”
“I can’t describe the state of my heart, my happiness knows no boundary. Make as many edits as you can. I want to see Hardik Pandya, Bumrah, Virat Kohli, Siraj, Chahal and I’ll even say make Rinku Singh dance, but make edits and show them to me. I want to see, this program should not stop. All the best,” Zakir Khan added. Sharing the clip, he wrote, “Aur banao.”
