Actor Karan Patel is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the film Darran Chhoo. The actor who captivated the audience with his role in the popular TV show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein opened up about a challenging period in his career. He explained how his behaviour led to the cancellation of his popular TV show Kasturi. In an interview with Pinkvilla, he admitted that he had become overly self-assured and developed a sense of invincibility after being cast as the lead actor in Kasturi for the first time.
“So I thought I’d become too big for my boots and I was a superstar with TV shows. Only to have the show (Kasturi) shut and then realize that nobody can be spared and nobody is bigger than the medium. Not even Khan saab (Shah Rukh Khan) can be bigger than his films, and a newcomer cannot be bigger than whatever project he’s working on,” he said.
Karan even admitted to arriving late on set and consuming alcohol during his show. He said, “Absolutely true! If you were stupid enough to do it, be strong enough to own it. I made all these mistakes but learned my lesson.”
Karan Patel will make his Bollywood debut with director Bharat Ratan’s upcoming film Darran Chhoo. The trailer and poster of the film have been released.
