Big Boss 6 fame Sana Khan, who stepped away from the entertainment industry in 2020, has since embraced a spiritual journey. Now happily settled with her husband, Mufti Anas Saiyad and raising their son Tariq Jamil. Sana recently made an appearance on Rubina Dilaik’s podcast, Kisine Bataya Nahi. During the episode, she opened up about the major decisions that have shaped her life. She also discussed about her marriage, including how she met her husband and the age difference between them.
Speaking to Rubina, Sana revealed that she was initially hesitant about her marriage with Anas since he is seven years younger than her.
“One Maulana ji sent Anas’ wedding proposal to me, I was like ye kaise hoga (how will this happen) because my husband is almost 7 years younger to me. But he made me understand why we should get married," Sana told Rubina.
She further added, “I always felt Maulanas were very boring because I came from a very fancy life. I heard Anas talking about a late friend so passionately and wishing well for his soul. I asked myself if I had a single friend who would wish this well for me even after my death and I realised I had no one. That was the first thing that attracted me towards Anas."
During the podcast, Sana also shared the story behind naming her son Tariq Jamil. The conversation began when Sana congratulated Rubina on the birth of her twins and expressed that she had once hoped for twins herself. However, she also acknowledged that “God’s plans are better than humans" as she now understands how managing just one baby is already a huge responsibility.
On being asked about her son’s name, Sana explained how she had long admired a prominent Muslim scholar, Tariq Jamil, whose teachings she had followed before leaving the entertainment industry. “I used to listen to Jamil’s preachings and loved and admired his thoughts on life and his persona," Sana added.
Later in the conversation, she recalled how her husband arranged a meeting between her and Tariq Jamil. During the encounter, she was struck by the scholar’s kindness. “He rather asked me about what’s happening in my industry, which left me in disbelief," she recalled. It was this genuine humility and understanding that inspired her to name her son after him.
