WhatsApp voice calling feature lets you place calls over the Internet to your contacts within the messaging app.

New Delhi: After debuting it on Android, iOS, and BlackBerry 10, WhatApp has finally extended its WhatsApp voice calling feature to the Windows Phone platform.

WhatsApp voice calling feature lets you place calls over the Internet to your contacts within the messaging app.Unlike the regular calls, the calls placed over the Internet do not use your network calling charges but instead use the cellular data.

Windows Phone users will be required to update the WhatsApp for Windows Phone app to be able to make calls. The updated app also lets you send audio files if you are running the Windows Phone 8.1 or above version.

The messaging service had first launched the feature for Android in March, and later extended it to iOS and BlackBerry 10 users in the following month. Bringing it to the Windows Phone has taken a little while, but nonetheless, it ends the long wait.
