Nokia 1 Android Go Phone by HMD Global was earlier leaked by a Russian journalist December last year. Now a couple of photos of the smartphone have surfaced online which have discovered the key design of the device, cheers to Chinese microblogging site, Baidu. The Baidu post shows a couple of hands-on images of the alleged Nokia 1 smartphone. The images show that the device appears to flaunt a metal frame and a polycarbonate body.
The Nokia 1 can be seen sporting a single camera setup and the Nokia branding at the back. There are no images showing the display or the lighter Android OS running on the device. It will be packed with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of native storage. It is speculated to be driven by Snapdragon 212 chipset that is present under the hood of the Nokia 2 phone. Nokia 1 will run on Android Go, which is actually optimised for low-end devices.
The Android Go OS will bring along other Go apps such as Google app, Play Store, YouTube, Gmail, Maps and more. One can expect HMD Global to launch Nokia 1 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech trade show in Barcelona, Spain in the next month.
