The highlight of the new LeEco phones is that instead of the usual headphone jack they come with a USB Type-C audio port.

New Delhi: Le Eco unveiled three new phones - the Le 2, Le 2 Pro, and the Le Max 2 - at an event in Beijing. And with the launch of these three phones, the company has ditched the conventional headphone jack.

The highlight of the phones is that instead of the usual headphone jack they come with a USB Type-C audio port featuring CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio) technology, which is claimed to offer high-quality uncompressed audio.

All three newly launched LeEco phones flaunt a metal unibody design, thin bezels on the front and a fingerprint scanner for added security. These phones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with LeEco's customized EUI 5.5 layer atop.

The LeEco Le 2 and Le 2 Pro are priced at 1,099 yuan (roughly translates to Rs 11,250) and 1,499 yuan (Rs 15,360) respectively, while the flagship Le Max 2 carries a price tag of 2,099 yuan (Rs 21,490) for the base model (4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage) and 2,499 yuan (Rs 25,590) for the top-of-the-line version (6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage).

The Le 2 has a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display and is powered by MediaTek's Helio X20 tri-cluster deca-core processor paired with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of onboard storage. It sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel camera on the front.

Armed with a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support, the Le 2 includes connectivity options such as WiFi 802.11ac, 4G LTE and VoLTE among others.

The Le 2 and Le 2 Pro are very similar in their appearance, with most of the changes under the hood. The Le 2 Pro is powered by MediaTek's Helio X25 deca-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. It comes in two storage variants - 32GB and 64GB.

The Le 2 Pro comes with a resolution of 21 megapxiel in the rear camera and has an 8 megapixel front-facing shooter. The connectivity options and the battery capacity, however, are similar as the Le 2.

The new flagship Le Max 2 comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. At the heart of the smartphone is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.

It also comes equipped with a 3,100 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 feature and connectivity options such as WiFi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, VoLTE and GPS among others.

Pre-orders for the phones start on April 20in China. There is, however, no word as to when these phones will make their way to India.
