Google Pixel 9 Series Launch Date Confirmed For August 2024: What Do We Know
Google Pixel 9 series would have been expected around October but the company has decided to shake things up this year.

Google Pixel 9 series launch in 2024 is going to be far earlier than most of us have expected. The new Pixels usually come out around October every year but Google is changing up its strategy and the Pixel 9 series and other Google products are going to be announced in less than two months from now. Google has a lot riding on its AI ambitions and we could hear more about its Pixel-centric plan at the event.

Google Pixel 9 Series Launch In August 2024: All Details

Google has started teasing the Pixel 9 launch event for August 13, 2024 where we could see a slew of Pixel 9 devices as well as the Pixel Watch 3 and the Pixel Fold 2 model. The fact that Pixel 9 design leaks have come earlier than usual more or less suggested that Google could try something different this year.

But even then, few would have guessed an August launch timeline from the company, which is almost a month before Apple unleashes the new iPhone 16 series this year. We expect Google to continue its Pixel journey in India and bring its latest flagships to the market.

Pixel 9 Series Design Leak And Possible Variants

As we mentioned, leaked images of the Pixel 9 series have surfaced online recently, which offers us a sneak peek into its features and design.

Shared by the Russian website Rozetked, these leaks purportedly reveal live images, features and specifications of the upcoming Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL smartphones. The leaked images of the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL show that the phones have rounded corners and pill-shaped camera bars on the rear.

The Pixel 9 series will have four models. As per the leak, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro will be of similar size.

However, the Pro variants appear to have a matte back and glossy frame, while the Pixel 9 has a glossy back and matte frame. In terms of its storage, the Pixel 9 is expected to have 12GB + 128GB RAM and storage configuration, while the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL will come in 16GB + 128GB configuration.

Google is expected to launch a new app promising to transform smartphone creativity along with its upcoming flagship device the Pixel 9 series. Reports this week say the upcoming series will include a new Creative Assistant app that uses AI to create personalised stickers.

This Creative Assistant app from the tech giant seems to be a strategic step to compete with their rival Apple’s Genmoji, a similar AI customisation feature that the company will offer with iOS 18 later this year.
