Google Pixel 8a launch is expected in May when the latest Google I/O 2024 keynote is slated to happen. We have seen the company launch the Pixel a-series phones at the event over the years and similar trends could follow yet again. Google Pixel 8a will most likely launch in India as well and new leaks have brought some bad news about the upcoming device.
Google Pixel 8a Price Leaked: What It Might Cost
Google Pixel 8a price has leaked by a retailer this week, which hints that Google could give it a higher price tag than last year’s Pixel 7a model. The leak suggests the Pixel 8a could get 128GB and 256GB variants this year and a starting price of around Rs 40,000 in Canada.
Having said that, Google tends to consider import costs and duties when it launches the phones in markets like India, could going by those estimates, the Pixel 8a starting price in the country could be around Rs 45,000 which makes it higher than what you paid for the 128GB Pixel 7a model in the market last year. We’ve said it quite often, going anything above Rs 45,000 for the Pixel a-series phone will make it a hard-sell for buyers, especially in a competitive market like India where people have many options in the range.
GOOGLE PIXEL 8A Features We Expect To See
The tipster claims the Pixel 8a will feature a 120Hz refresh rate screen with a 1,400 nits of peak brightness on offer. However, the report here says the Pixel 8a might not see big hardware upgrades, especially the cameras on the upcoming Pixel model.
Pixel 8a will be using the Tensor G3 chipset, which also powers the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro models and is far better than the Tensor G2 when it comes to power management.
In terms of the design, we might see a more rounded approach with the Pixel 8a which should give it a better in-hand feel and grip. Google is unlikely to bump up the screen size beyond 6.1-inch once again, but we could see a 256GB storage variant this year, which will definitely work for many of you. We’re waiting for Google to confirm the Pixel 8a launch details which should happen anytime now.
