Hyderabad: Gionee, which is known for introducing thin phones, has launched yet another slim smartphone - Elife S7 - in India. The phone is priced at Rs 24,999 and will be available in the country in three colours - Back, White and Maldives Blue.
The phone has a thickness of 5.5mm and is said to be inspired by the U-shaped design of railways tracks. According to Gionee, the metal used on the Elife S7 is aviation level aluminum magnesium alloy to make its build solid and durable with no worry of bending in pockets.
It is the first product to run Gionee's Amigo 3.0, which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
Powering the phone is a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.7GHz processor. The phone has a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
"Powered by the night mode engine of Image+, the device can capture 6 pictures in about 1 sec," says Gionee adding, "the S7 can capture a picture with only 500 milliseconds, and its focus time is only 300 milliseconds."
Both the front and back of the phone have Corning Gorilla Glass 3, thereby protecting the phone from scratches.
Packed with a 2750mAh battery, the Gionee Elife S7 is claimed to last for a whole day. The company, in addition, says to have optimised both the hardware and software performance to lower battery consumption.
