Apple has raised the stakes for its products with new commercials that show its worth with privacy and security of the users, and it wants you to buy it.

Apple focuses heavily on privacy across all its products and some of its ads for iPhones have talked about this aspect. But now the company is raising the privacy and safety pitch for the Safari web browser, probably for the first time. The new campaign from Apple mentions the aspects of Safari that assures your privacy and security at the same time.

The pitch to choose Safari over Chrome or Edge revolves around the plot of how Google and other web browsers are culpable for tracking your data and browsing habits to push personalised ads.

The ad for Safari shows you security cameras flying in the air like birds keeping a close eye on all the smartphone users and what they are doing on the internet. It is clearly aimed at Android users, the ad also uses these cameras as a form of website trackers, prowling around you to keep a track of your activities that is a clear invasion of privacy.

Eventually, you have an iPhone user coming into the picture who opens the Safari browser which results in all the cameras exploding mid-air. So, it shows Safari like a saviour for everyone and prevents them from being tracked or monitoring their internet data.

In many ways Apple is trying to pitch Safari for its features and there is nothing wrong with that. Even the digging part is shocking because millions know that Android being an open-source comes at a cost. Apple gives you all the control on how your data is collected and tracked, you can even stop apps and websites from using some of the tools of your phone or laptop.

Even then, you have Chrome owning a major chunk of the web browser market, followed by Safari in a distant second, and then you have Edge, Firefox, Opera and more. The good thing is that Google is also equally invested in the privacy of users and its recent additions to Android and Chrome suggest the same.

Apple has never felt the need to market its products before, but we’re glad it is ready to open that horizon and show what the people pay for when they buy an iPhone, Mac or an iPad from the company.
