Android 15 Release Date For Pixel Phones Could Be Delayed: What We Know
Google usually launches the new Pixel phones with new Android version but this year's early launch has come with a slight change in plan

Pixel phone users might have to wait a little longer before the Android 15 update rolls out for their devices. Google traditionally launches the new Pixel models with the latest version but this year’s August release has forced the company to change its plans and reports suggest it might have to push the roll out of Android 15 to its usual timeline.

Pixel 9 series made its debut earlier this month, and all of the models, including the Pixel 9 Pro Fold have launched with Android 14 out of the box. Google’s regular cycle goes until October for the new release and it seems that Android 15 is also going to follow the same trend.

Ideally, if Google was planning for an August launch for the Pixel 9 series, it should have prepared the Android 15 beta schedule for an earlier release which would have helped the company go about its usual release timeline.

The company will now have to push an over-the-air (OTA) update to offer Android 15 version to the new flagship phones and the current Pixel models which is expected to happen sometime in October.

The other important aspect with this change is that Google will have to make sure that its claimed 7 years of OS support is not denied to these consumers, and it ensures that one more OS update is offered rather than counting Android 15 in the update schedule for the Pixel 9 series.

Getting an year old Android version with the new phones doesn’t throw a positive light on Google’s flagship ambitions but we are hoping the wait will be worth it for these users.
