Airchat: The New Social App On The Block That Needs An Invite To Get You Talking
Airchat is looking to change the way we talk and not only message, connect with people but do a lot more on the internet. Is it another Clubhouse clone?

The conveyor belt of social media apps over the years has seen many come and go. Clubhouse is one of the biggest examples of how you start with a bang and then fall as sharply as well. These apps have a short attention span among people, and mostly play with the early excitement and fear-of-missing-out among the crowd.

Airchat is the latest sensation, not new exactly, since it was launched back in October, 2023. However, recently, you must have come across posts on social media, where people are either asking or handing out Airchat invites. And developments like these are hard to ignore, getting more people on board and joining the excitement around the platform.

Airchat: New Social Buzz Or Early Hype Bubble?

Airchat claims it is nothing like the other social media apps that we have seen in recent times. Airchat is said to be a conversational network platform, which seems to be another way of saying people can have audio chats and other forms with a group of people.

The intention of the people behind Airchat was to make an app where people can openly talk to new people and build a connection with them. Having said that, Airchat is not only about audio, you can even send voice notes or even read the messages. We saw a big surge in demand for podcasts during the pandemic, when people were confined to their home.

But the trends have changed in the past few years, which saw Clubhouse’s demise. Airchat is looking to buck the trend of platforms going away, and having a mix of audio and text with a twist of AI and a functional UI could go a long way in making it a success in the long run.

Airchat Invites, Anyone?

Airchat started with iOS in beta, and is now available to everyone, including those on Android. However, the platform doesn’t seem ready to handle the traffic of millions trying to sign up with their account. Airchat invites seem to be the best way to gauge the demand and gradually build the resources to make it capable of handling the tasks at a large scale.

Invites build this curiosity among people, making them eager to grab one before everyone else does. We noticed this craze for invites many years back when a phone brand called OnePlus did this in its early days. Airchat is just another tech company looking to build the hype but will it last the mile? We’ll have to wait and see for things to pan out one way or the other.
