A New York-based company wants Apple to name its next flagship iPhone 7, not iPhone 6s
6S Marketing wants Apple names its next flagship device not the iPhone 6s but instead name it iPhone 7.

New Delhi: We wish Apple asked for public opinion when naming its phones. But a marketing company based in New York nonetheless wants to give it a try.

6S Marketing wants Apple to name its next flagship device not the iPhone 6s as expected but instead name it iPhone 7.

While you might be wondering the name could help the brand, the company thinks otherwise. It wants to have the ‘6S’ associated with 6S Marketing and not a smartphone.

To make itself heard (we doubt if it would make a difference) the company has in fact set up billboards in New York saying, "Dear Apple, Please call it the iPhone 7."

In a blog post, the company’s co-founder and president Chris Breikss has asked Apple to ‘reconsider’ naming its next flagship device as the company’s clients, colleagues, and friends refer to the company simply as ‘6S’ since it was set up in 2000. He further notes that the term ‘6S’ sounds like ‘success’ and hence, they used it to name the company.

As Apple is introducing its next iPhone on September 9 and if it is actually an iPhone 6s, there is not even a remote possibility that it would be renamed a day before the mega launch. Good luck, 6S Marketing.
