My Music Notes Have Been Stolen, Says Legendary Music Composer Ilaiyaraaja
Ilaiyaraaja said that his music notes that he had made during his 46-year career have been missing.

Ilaiyaraaja is one of the country’s most recognised musicians and has composed over 7,000 songs. He has provided scores for over 1,000 films in his career spanning over forty-five years. The national award-winning composer began his career with the 1970 Tamil film Annakili and has never looked back since then. He has garnered a lot of respect and recognition throughout his career, and his songs have also become quite popular among the masses. Recently, the legendary music composer shared an insight about his music during an event. In the interview, he talked about how his music notes were stolen and he still couldn’t find out who stole them.

Recently, an exhibition was organised at the Lalit Kala Academy in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to launch the paintings of legendary artist Maniam Selven. The event coincided with the centenary celebration and was set up to highlight the great role played by father Maniam and his son in the police force. At the event, Ilaiyaraaja and actor Sasikumar were called in as the chief guests for the special function on the first day.

During the event, Ilaiyaraaja gave a sensational interview and talked about his music. In the interview, he talked about how the paintings made by Maniam and the ones of Selven had influenced him in making music. He also shared that these works of art have been a great source of inspiration for him to compose music. He further added that there were many music notes that he had made during his 46-year career that have been missing. He also added that, till now, he has not been able to find out who stole them.

There has been news that a biopic is about to be made on the life of Ilaiyaraaja. Recently, it was reported that Tamil star Dhanush had been roped in to play the lead role in the film. The film is expected to start production in 2024 and aim for a 2025 release. The project is said to be bankrolled by Connekkt Media. There has been no official confirmation from the actor on this.
