Lucknow: Was there a history of animosity between the Kunda strongman Raja Bhaiya and the slain DSP Zia-ul-Haq? CNN-IBN has accessed a criminal history sheet that was prepared against Raja Bhaiya by the DSP. Dated September 5, 2012, the criminal record states 47 cases against Raguraj Pratap Singh, aka Raja Bhaiya, since 1991.
The cases are registered under various police stations in Kunda, Hathigawan, Nawabganj, Allahabad etc and they cite the Gangster Act, the Criminal Law Amendment Act among others. Zia-ul-Haq had also prepared a similar history of Raja Bhaiya's cousin Akshay Pratap Singh, his criminal charge list had 28 cases.
Zia-ul-Haq was posted as the Circle Officer in Kunda in August, he prepared the history sheet in September. Was this attached to a confidential report sent to UP's Home department? Top UP police officers in Lucknow say Zia-ul-Haq wasn't preparing any such report, but local police officers say Haq was interrogating a case involving supporters of Raja Bhaiya.
Is the murder of Zia-ul-Haq connected to his investigation of events that followed after the rape of a Dalit girl in Sthaan village of Kunda in June 2012? What made the Kunda CO prepare the criminal history of Raja Bhaiya and his family?
As the CBI tries to unravel the truth behind the March 2 killings, it's task is carved out. Was the killing of the DSP accidental, by a volatile mob or was it a pre-planned murder?
