New Delhi: Senior BJP leader LK Advani's Rath Yatra seems to have run into a roadblock in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh administration on Wednesday officially denied permission to Advani from holding a rally at Mughalsarai.
Sources say that he was denied permission as the BJP has still not taken an NOC from the railways. They add that the ground where the rally was being organised is under the railways.
Earlier on Wednesday, Advani addressed the press at Patna where he praised Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.
Advani said, "I want to thank Nitish Kumar for flagging off the yatra, he has given strength to our Yatra. I have not seen any other Yatra earlier being given such a big boost on the very first day."
According to his route map, he will now move ahead to Varanasi.
It is reported that he will be addressing three public meetings in Varanasi on Wednesday itself.
Advani on Tuesday began his 38-day anti-corruption yatra from Sitab Diara village in Bihar - the birth place of Socialist leader Jaya Prakash Narayan.
