UP Minister SP Maurya’s Nephew Pramod Maurya Joins Samajwadi Party, Says His Uncle May Also Join SP
Speaking on the issue of Phoolpur and Gorakhpur by-elections, Akhilesh Yadav said that this time people of these constituencies are going to take a very big decision.

Lucknow: Pramod Maurya, nephew of BJP minister Swami Prasad Maurya, has joined Samajwadi Party along with hundreds of his supporters alleging that his uncle was being sidelined by the UP government. He joined the party in Lucknow at Samajwadi Party headquarters on Saturday in the presence of Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav and SP State President Naresh Uttam Patel.

Pramod has also been Zila Panchayat Head in Pratapgarh and was upset with the BJP government in the state over negligence of Swami Prasad Maurya. Pramod was miffed to the extent that he said, “The entire Maurya community and backward cast is unhappy with BJP as Swami Prasad Maurya is neglected in this government. If this continues then very soon, Swami Prasad Maurya will also join Samajwadi Party just like we did. Today people from six districts are joining SP under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav and this will continue now.”

“Keshav Prasad Maurya was never our leader, just being a Maurya does not make you a leader. In the last municipal elections, BJP candidate from Keshav Maurya’s ward Sirathu lost badly. In the upcoming by-elections in Phoolpur, BJP is going to lose badly,” added Pramod.

Welcoming the new members in the Samajwadi Party, SP National President said, “The BJP is just showing dreams to the people and not doing anything on the ground. Yesterday a farmer climbed up a tree as he was fed up of his loan. But the BJP says they have waived off farmers’ loan. BJP just publicised that they are waiving off the loan but on the ground everyone knows what the reality is.”

“The BJP is good in doing publicity; hoardings over hoardings can be seen all over the city. Bati Choka, ice cream vendors, noodle stalls, etc., can’t be sold now in the name of Investor Summit. Poor people are deprived off their livelihood for investors’ summit," Akhilesh Yadav said.

Speaking on the issue of Phoolpur and Gorakhpur by-elections, Akhilesh Yadav said that this time people of these constituencies are going to take a very big decision. “We appeal to the people of Phoolpur and Gorakhpur to help us in the upcoming by-elections. Now they have seen five budgets of Delhi and two budgets of Uttar Pradesh and hence they should help us now.”
