Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has been flooded with violation of model code of conduct and now reports of such violation has been reported from Kanpur and Allahabad also.
The model code of conduct violation which started by display of firearms during a proccession of BSP MP Mohammad Tahir Khan in Sultanpur on March 4, gained momentum with Election Commission of India(ECI) serving notice to Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav for distribution of money in his presence during a Holi function at his native village Saifai in Etawah district
Similarly FIRs were registered against Congress MP from Varanasi for distribution of money at a hospital in Varanasi while a case has been lodged against BJP candidate from Pilibhit RPT Pilibhit seat Varun Gandhi for giving provocative speech.
Samajwadi Party candidate and Bollywood star Jaya Prada was found
distributing money at a Darghah in Rampur.
Now Kanpur authorities have lodged complaint against BJP candidate Satish Mahana yesterday for violating model code of conduct by bringing out a proccession without taking prior permission.
However the BJP candidate has contradicted the charges of the district authorities and claimed that he had given in written to the administration about the proccession.
In another incident yesterday, BSP minister Nand Gopal Gupta alias Nandi held a party meeting in a cinema hall in Allahabad and later screened a film for the party workers.
The authorities were however, investigating the matter whether it was a violation of the election model code.
Reports of violation of model code of conduct were also receive from other parts of the state including Basti, Gonda, Kushinagar and Balia.
Except for Mulayam Singh Yadav, ECI had not issued any notice to the candidates but only sought report from the district authorities.
SP president Mr Yadav had sent his report to the ECI on the notice served to him.
