New Delhi: Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot who was Congress' star campaigner in Rajasthan is not the only claimant for the chief minister's job in the state.

Two Jat leaders - Union Cabinet Minister Sis Ram Ola and Barmer-based leader Sona Ram - have also thrown their hats in the ring.

"Jats are a big group. Every fifth vote is that of a person from the Jat community. It's not wrong if the Jats expect a chief minister of their own," said Sona Ram.

So, even if state Congress president, C P Joshi has lost the election and is out of the race, Gehlot still needs the backing of 10 Janpath to get the coveted chair. Meanwhile, the bad news for him is that the Jats have an 11 per cent presence in the state and they have voted heavily for the Congress in this election.

Rajasthan Congress president CP Joshi has said that the leadership issue is not settled yet and that the Chief Minister's post is open to every party worker.

"It is not necessary that only an elected representative can compete for the post of chief minister. Congress has not asked for the vote in the name of one person," Joshi stated.
