Shivpal Singh Yadav alleged the government machinery was being "blatantly misused" by the BSP for electoral gains.
Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party said on Tuesday that it would approach Election Commission (EC) against the statues of state Chief Minister Mayawati and her party's election symbol dotting the city.
"The Bahujan Samajwadi Party government has installed statues of Chief Minister Mayawati and Bahujan Samaj Party election symbol, the elephant, every where in the city to promote the party. We will write to Election Commission asking to take cognisance of it," Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav said in Lucknow.
He alleged the government machinery was being "blatantly misused" by the Bahujan Samajwadi Party for electoral gains, and appealed the Election Commission to ensure free and fair polls.
