Sex Scandal: HD Revanna Arrested, Blue Corner Notice Issued Against Prajwal | Updates
HD Revanna was arrested by the SIT on Saturday for alleged sexual assault of several women after a court denied him relief in a kidnapping case filed against him

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday said that JD(S) Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who has been booked for alleged sexual assault of several women, will face action as per the law.

“SIT has already taken action. As per the law, arrests will take place, and bail too. Justice for victims is important, and those who commit such acts should be taught a lesson. There are strict laws,” Kharge told the media.

The Congress chief also maintained that the party is not politicising this issue and denied any involvement. He said, “We don’t do politics. This seems to be a matter from 10 years ago. Their government was also in power at that time. No one should politicise this.”

Meanwhile, a blue corner notice has been issued against Prajwal Revanna.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asserted that they would track Prejwal’s location to ensure his return for investigation.

“We believe in law. Wherever Prajwal Revanna is, we will track his location to ensure his return,” Karnataka CM added.

CBI May Issue Blue Notice Against Prajwal: Karnataka CM Office

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is reportedly considering issuing a Blue Notice against Janata Dal (Secular) leader and MP Prajwal Revanna, who is purportedly in Germany on a diplomatic passport following allegations of sexual abuse. The information was conveyed by the Karnataka chief minister’s office on Saturday, after Siddaramaiah convened an emergency meeting with senior police officials and the special investigation team (SIT) handling the case.

“We will proceed for the arrest with appropriate measures. There is a possibility of CBI issuing a Blue Corner Notice, which will speed up the investigation,” stated a release from the CM’s office.

HD Revanna arrested

JDS leader and Prajwal’s father, HD Revanna, was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Saturday for alleged sexual assault of several women after a court denied him relief in a kidnapping case filed against him.

A case of kidnapping was registered against him at KR Nagar police station in Bengaluru. Revanna was booked on a charge of kidnapping in connection with the ‘obscene video’ case – in which his son Prajwal, is also booked. Revanna was brought to the CID office in Bengaluru.

Congress Sat On Evidence Against Prajwal: Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman claimed on Saturday that the Congress government in Karnataka did not take action against the Hassan MP for about a year despite being aware of the matter.

Sitharaman alleged that the Congress was afraid it might lose Vokkaliga votes and therefore stayed silent until the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections was over.

“They thought the Vokkaliga votes might go from their hands and decided to remain silent till the time the first phase of Lok Sabha got over. Now they are making it a big issue and pushing it which is typical of Congress and it shows their hypocrisy,” the BJP leader claimed.
