Madhepura Lok Sabha MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav's Jan Adhikar Party announced its first list of 15 candidates for Bihar Assembly elections on Tuesday. One of the candidates is a sitting Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA Ajay Kumar Bulganin who joined Pappu Yadav's party after he was denied ticket by Lalu Prasad.
Bulganin will contest from Mohiuddinnagar. Lalu's bastion Raghopur from where his son Tejaswi Yadav is likely to make his electoral debut is adjacent to Mohiuddinnagar.
The other candidates are Ashok Kumar Verma, who is the JAP Bihar unit chief, from Varisnagar, Sweta Suman Yadav from Bachhwada, Raj Kumar Prasad from Sahebpur Kamal, Daso Paswan from Bakhri and Manohar Yadav from Khagaria.
Nagendra Singh Tyagi will contest from Beldaur, Dr Suhaili Mehta from Parbatta, Dr Ajmeri Khatun from Bihpur, Sunil Paswan from Pirpaiti and Chakrapani Himanshu from Sultanganj.
Mohammad Abu Qaiser is the candidate from Nathnagar, Anita Devi is contesting from Tarapur, Vijay Samrat alias Vijay Kumar from Sheikhpura and Rajiv Kumar will contest from Warsliganj.
JAP is part of of the hastily cobbled Third Front which also consists of Samajwadi party and Nationalist Congress Party. NCP leader Tariq Anwar has been named the chief ministrial candidate of the Third Front.
The other parties which are part of the Third Front are Samras Samaj Party (SSP) of former union minister Nagmani, NPP (Nationalists Peoples Party) of former Speaker PA Sangma and Samajwadi Janata Party (SJP) of former union minister Devendra Prasad Yadav.
