CPM leader Prakash Karat said that the PM went ahead with the FDI despite opposition from parties to appease the West.
New Delhi: The Left on Wednesday upped the ante over FDI in multi-brand retail and diesel price hike and said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh must either roll back the measures or resign.
"Congress's major allies are against FDI in retail and almost all the Opposition parties are opposing it. Still Congress has gone ahead with it. The PM has done this to appease the West," CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat said at a press conference.
"If the PM does not roll back, he does not have the right to continue in office," he added.
