Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday said the report of Centre-appointed interlocutors on Jammu and Kashmir should be shared with the people and acted upon.
"We hope that as soon as possible, this report (of Kashmir interlocutors) should be shared with the public and this report should be acted upon (by the central government)", Chief Minister Omar Abdullah told Assembly in Jammu.
Omar, who was speaking on the debate of the grants of his department in the House, said "I request on the behalf of this House to the Government of India that it would not be wrong that this interlocutors' report should not get the same treatment like past reports".
The 3-member interlocutors on Jammu and Kashmir, headed by veteran journalist Dilip Padgaonkar, submitted its report to the Union Home Ministry in October 2011.
"This report has been submitted to the Centre", Omar said adding the process which was started (by the central government) should not be just an exercise for name sake but for proper utilisation and working.
"The recommendations in that report by the interlocutors should be brought under consideration. As far as possible, the recommendations should be acted upon", he said adding the "interlocutors had visited not only Jammu and Srinagar but also far-flung districts where they met with the people".
