Chennai: The situation over the Mullaperiyar dam row continues to remain tense with Kerala Opposition leader VS Achuthanandan expected to join protestors on a one-day fast. He will join the fast at the site of the Mullaperiyar dam in Idukki on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, in Chennai, MDMK chief Vaiko is slated to go on a yatra to protest against Kerala's demand for a new dam.
However, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has asked people to not succumbed to "irrational fears".
