New Delhi: Congress ally and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav met yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday as the latter continues drumming up political support for his anti-black money campaign.
"Government through its agencies is conspiring to malign me," claimed Ramdev.
Ramdev claimed that his campaign is being targeted by various government departments such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The meeting with Mulayam comes a day after Ramdev met TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu and promised a nationwide agitation from August 9.
"Till the time black money is not brought back, the poor won't benefit. It also leads to corruption...the war had weakened. But I am happy that Ramdev has relaunched it," Yadav said.
Ramdev is expected to meet Odisha Chief Minister and BJD Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday. Ramdev is also expected to meet key Congress ally and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and former UP chief minister and BSP supremo Mayawati sometime soon.
Last week, Ramdev set tongues wagging when he met Nitin Gadkari, Sharad Pawar and Sharad Yadav.
Ramdev had said that he had also sought appointments with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi to get their support for his movement.
