Wankaner (Rajkot): Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursdya told Congress President Sonia Gandhi to "come prepared" when she toured this state for election campaigning on Friday.
"People would like to have answers to some questions from her. They would like to know what her party's government at the Centre has done in last five years to contain inflation and unemployment," Modi told reporters after addressing an election rally in Wankaner.
"She should come here after doing some home work and be well-prepared to answer such questions", he said.
Modi said Gujarat is not "dependent" on the Centre. It has contributed Rs 2.5 lakh crore as tax to the Centre, he said adding, people of Gujarat would like to know where the money has been spent by the Centre.
Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to address three election rallies in Gujarat on Friday.
Accusing the Congress of not being interested in development, Modi said Gujarat could prosper in last five years only because Congress was not in power there.
"The Government at Centre is 'anti-Gujarat'," he said. "Similarly, if nation-wide development is to be achieved, people have to throw Congress out of power," he said adding people would vote for development and not vote bank politics, which is practised by Congress.
