Modi not a good orator, Vajpayee is the best: BJP leader Uma Bharti
Uma Bharti said that huge crowds attend Narendra Modi's rallies only to show support to him and not to listen to his speeches.

Jhansi: Even as Bharatiya Janata Party Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi continues to lay claim to Atal Bihari Vajyapee's legacy, comparisons are being made between the two. BJP leader Uma Bharti has now said that while Modi's rallies witness huge crowds, his oration skills are pale before those of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

She has also said that huge crowds attend Modi's rallies only to show support to him and not to listen to his speeches. "Vajpayee is the best orator BJP has ever had. When you compare Modi to Vajpayee, you realise Modi is not as good. But Modi's rallies still see a huge turnout as people want to show their support," Bharti said.

"Have you heard Modi making speeches? Atal Bihari Vajpayee is the best orator of our party. Nobody equals his oratory skills in Indian politics," she said, addressing a BJP workers meet in Jhansi from where she has been nominated by the party for the Lok Sabha polls.

Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi backed Bharti's comments saying Modi's speeches lack content. She also hit out at the language used by Modi.

"Modi's speeches lack content. He doesn't have any knowledge about India's history. He doesn't say anything about the plans for India's future, not even a small-time party worker uses the language that Modi does. He has no control over what he says," Joshi said.
