'Mera Bharat, Mera Parivaar': Modi Reacts To Lalu's Remarks, Says Left Home At Young Age To Serve People
Reiterating his commitment for the people of the country, the PM said he had left home at a young age with the dream of serving the people

A day after Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Yadav made personal attacks against him, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hit back, saying all of India was his family and that his life was like an ”open book.”

Reiterating his commitment to the people of the country, the PM said he had left home at a young age with the dream of serving the people.

Addressing a well-attended public rally in Telangana’s Adilabad, the PM also said his he had dedicated himself to public welfare as a ”sevak”.

Contending that the opposition said he had no family, the PM said ”140 crore people of this country are my family. Mera Bharat mera parivaar,”(My India is my family).” .

He further said his “life is like an open book. People of the country know about it.” “When I left home in my childhood, I left with a dream that I will live for the countrymen,” he said.

Further, attacking “dynasty parties” in the country, the Prime Minister said said they may have different faces, but “jhoot and loot” was their common character.

”The face of dynasty parties may be different but they have a similar character–jhoot and loot (lies and loot),” he charged.

Modi further said that while “TRS became BRS”, it did not change anything, apparently for Telangana. Now the Congress has succeeded the regional party in the ruling saddle, but ”nothing is going to happen,” he claimed.

At the rally, the PM listed out several developmental works undertaken in the past 15 days in the country and said this was to further strengthen ’Atmanirbhar Bharat’ to ’Viksit Bharat.’ He also recalled he had detailed discussions with all his ministers and top officials in New Delhi on Sunday about an action plan for a developed India.

The ”dynasty parties” could not stand the work his government was doing for the welfare of Adivasis.

BJP Leaders Add ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ On X After Lalu’s Remark

Meanwhile, BJP leaders suffixed “Modi Ka Parivar” to their social media usernames in a counter to Lalu Yadav’s swipe at the PM that he had no child or family.

The RJD seems to have handed a strong issue on the platter to the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. This seems reminiscent of the 2019 general elections when Rahul Gandhi had taken a jibe at Modi, saying “Chowkidar Chor Hai” to allege a scam in the purchase of the Rafale fighter jets. The BJP had cleverly reversed the situation then too, with Modi coining the catchphrase “Main Bhi Chowkidar” and all leaders from the party taking that line to attack the Congress.

BJP leaders explain that personal attacks against PM Modi have never worked and have in fact boomeranged on political opponents. “The Congress has learnt this the hard way in the past — be it Mani Shankar Aiyar’s ‘Chaiwala’ comment in 2014 or Sonia Gandhi’s ‘Maut Ka Saudagar’ remark. It is the turn of the INDI alliance now,” a senior BJP leader said.

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said Modi has always addressed countrymen as “mere parivarajan” (my family members) and the PM had celebrated all festivals with the people and soldiers at the border. Trivedi said Modi’s life is devoted to the nation and that is why he had never even taken a day’s leave in the last 10 years as the Prime Minister.
