With mounting pressure, Maharashtra government has now ordered a probe into the matter.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Maharashtra unit is turning the heat on state's Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse. Slapping a serious allegation, AAP leader Preeti Menon on Saturday claimed that she has documentary evidence to prove that Khadse has been in touch with underworld don and India's most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim.

Addressing a press conference, Preeti also alleged that Khadse used an IDEA mobile number which he had bought in his home district Jalgaon in April to contact Dawood. According to the AAP leader Khadse's name features in the list of most-dialed numbers from Dawood's Karachi house.

Khadse, meanwhile, accepted that the telephone number in question was indeed registered in his name. However, he categorically denied speaking to Dawood or any of his family members.

"IDEA company has given me detail of call record of last one year which clearly asserts that no international call has been made from my number," he said.

With pressure mounting, Maharashtra government has now ordered a probe into the matter.

Dawood, the prime accused in the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai (then Bombay) in which at 257 people were killed and hundreds other injured, has been living in Karachi under the protection of Pakistani authorities after fleeing from India.
