Days after Nitish Kumar took oath as the Bihar Chief Minister for the record ninth time after returning to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) alliance, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday said his “doors are always open” for the Janata Dal (United) chief.
Speaking about giving another chance to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar a day after the two prominent leaders were seen exchanging greetings outside the Bihar Assembly, Lalu said, “Let him come back, we will see then (jab aaenge tab dekha jaaega).”
He said the doors were always open for Nitish, who ditched him for the second time, leading to his son Tejashwi Yadav losing the deputy chief minister’s post twice.
“Doors are always open (darwaza toh khula hi rehta hai),” he said.

However, JD(U) has ruled out the possibility of a possible comeback.
“Lalu ji says the doors are still open. He should know that the famous padlock of Aligarh has been placed on the doors. Our leader Nitish Kumar has clearly said whenever RJD has shared power with us, it has engaged in corruption. There is no question of going back”, asserted JD(U) chief spokesman and MLC Neeraj Kumar.
Last month, Nitish Kumar ended the suspense over his next political move by resigning as Bihar chief minister returned to his old ally NDA, in a body blow to the Opposition bloc INDIA. Nitish Kumar dumped the Mahagathbandhan, which included Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal, which he had joined less than 18 months ago after breaking from the NDA.
