DMK a Hitler Party, Only TTV Dinakaran Can Save Tamilians: Subramanian Swamy
Swamy said that if the contest narrows down to TTV versus DMK, TTV's candidate should win to teach a lesson to MK Stalin-led DMK.

Bengaluru: BJP MP and former Union Minister Dr Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday predicted that the TTV Dinakaran-led faction might win the prestigious RK Nagar bypoll on December 21.

Swamy said that if the contest narrows down to TTV versus DMK, TTV's candidate should win to teach a lesson to MK Stalin-led DMK.

Speaking to News18, the leader said, “I believe the contest is now between TTV Dinakaran and the DMK. The ruling EPS-OPS faction of the AIADMK may not even be in the race.”

Dr Swamy, who has been highly critical of his party's support to the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, described E Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam as homeless, spineless wonders who can't lead the party or do anything good for the state.

“Both of them are incompetent. They don't have the backing of the cadre. I believe most are still with the TTV, who is now emerging as the main challenger to DMK,” said the MP.

The economist also called DMK a ‘Hitler party’ which has to be decimated to save Tamil people from their corrupt, criminal activities.

The campaigning for the RK Nagar constituency by-election in Tamil Nadu came to an end on Tuesday, the voting for which will take place on December 21.

While RK Nagar is just one of 234 constituencies in the state of Tamil Nadu, it has piqued the country’s interest as it has turned into a prestige battle of sorts. It is being believed that whomsoever wins the seat, will decide what shape the political landscape of the state takes.

In 2015, the sitting MLA resigned to make way for former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa to contest from the seat after she was acquitted in a disproportionate assets case. She won the bypoll and in 2016, she contested from the same constituency for the Assembly elections.

However, Jayalalithaa died in December 2016 and the seat fell vacant. What followed was political drama and the state saw pitched battles between rival factions of AIADMK.
