Lucknow: Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is on a two-day visit to his Parliamentary constituency Amethi, reached Lucknow on Monday and while on his way to his constituency made a stop at the Hanuman Mandir to offer prayers.
Sporting a white kurta-pajama and a black sadri along with a saffron scarf, Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Congress MP Parmod Tiwari, MLC Dinesh Singh and MP Representative KL Sharma, visited the Hanuman temple in Churuwa in Raebareli.
On Tuesday, Rahul will be meeting party leaders and workers at the Munshiganj guest house. From there, he will move for Musafirkhana at 11 am, where he will be meeting people and his party workers.
Around noon, Rahul Gandhi will be kicking off a pad yatra from Gauriganj Post Office which will end at Hanuman Mandir. Rahul Gandhi will then have darshan and also perform the puja.
Post visiting the Hanuman Temple in Gauriganj, Rahul will also address a Nukkad Sabha before leaving for Jagdishpur and then to Mohanganj.
Later in the day he is expected to take the flight back to Delhi.
During Gujarat State Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi, who was seen visiting temples, was criticised by the BJP for his temple visits.
The BJP’s charge was that Rahul was trying to project soft-Hindutva.
