Cong rushes to stung Subba's defence, BJP red

New Delhi: The CNN-IBN expose on Congress MP M K Subba has generated many political reactions. While UPA leaders are on a defensive, BJP has demanded speedy action on the case.

Union minister Sriprakash Jaiswal says the matter is sub judice. You want comments on a story shown on a channel? The courts will decide who is an Indian citizen is and action will be taken the day we get the court verdict,” he said.

BJP leader VK Malhotra said action needs to be taken against Subba. “We are collecting all the facts and have already petitioned the Lok Sabha Speaker. We appeal to the Supreme Court to give the verdict on MK Subba soon,” he said.

The investigation shows that Subba had filed this affidavit in the Tezpur magistrate's court on October 3, 1985, admitting that Moni Raj Limbo and Moni Kumar Subba are the same person.

Subba had been denying that he was Limbo, who escaped from the Illam prison in Nepal while serving sentence for murder.
