New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday attacked the BJP for ridiculing UPA government's report card as "propaganda", saying the main Opposition party is trying to mislead the nation.

"They (BJP) are trying to mislead the nation. What else can you expect from the BJP, whose national president (Bangaru Luxman) was caught on camera accepting cash during the NDA's rule," party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed told reporters.

He was reacting to the BJP's criticism of the UPA's report card released by the government on Tuesday that listed achievements of one year of UPA-II.

"I think it is important for a government to be judged by the people rather than judge itself. What has been released is propaganda, not a reality," Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said.

The senior BJP leader alleged the UPA government had failed on all fronts.

Ahmed, however, said "UPA-II is an extension of UPA-I. And if we got 206 seats in the second term from 142 of UPA-I, is it not a clear sign of public acceptance of our policies."

He expressed confidence that the country will greatly benefit from suggestions of the re-constituted National Advisory Council headed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

He said members for NAC have been appointed from various fields and will help consoldiate the UPA's programmes that aim at inclusive growth and betterment of 'Aam Admi'.
