New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh on Monday moved the Delhi High Court seeking bail in the 2008 cash-for-votes scam. The former Samajwadi Party leader decided to move the High Court after a Delhi court on September 28 rejected his bail plea.
Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court on Monday sought the medical report of the former Samajwadi Party leader from AIIMS by October 12.
The court also issued a notice to the Delhi Police on his bail plea.
Singh is in judicial custody at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) as his both interim and regular bail pleas were rejected.
Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal relied on the medical reports to reject both the bail applications of Singh who is undergoing treatment for his kidney ailments at the AIIMS.
Singh was arrested on September 6 after he appeared before the court in response to the court summons to him for his alleged involvement in 2008 cash-for-vote scam.
He, however, had to be rushed to the AIIMS from Tihar jail after a bout of vomiting and diarrhoea on September 12 evening and later the court granted him interim bail on September 15.
