Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister designate Akhilesh Yadav, who will on Thursday take oath as the 33rd head of the state, on Wednesday said his cabinet will be "small" in size initially and have both old and new faces, representing all sections.

"Constituting a team accommodating all is a difficult task. We are working on it. My ministry will be a balanced one with a mix of both old and new faces...all sections would be accommodated in it. It will be short initially and could be later expanded," he told reporters at SP headquarters.

The 38-year-old SP leader said responsible and honest officers would be inducted in the government.

Akhilesh said his government would create favourable environment and provide all possible help to industrialists so that new ventures could be started in the state.

He also promised better law and order in the state. "No one have to remain in fear," he said.

Yadav also promised a better atmosphere for investment and improved law and order.

On the unemployment allowance promised by SP in its election manifesto, Akhilesh said, "All poll promises would be fulfilled. If thousand crores of rupees could be spent on construction of statues and memorials in the previous BSP regime, why can't money be arranged for the allowance?"

When asked to comment on the allegations of step motherly treatment meted out by the Centre towards the BSP government, he said, "The party had looted all the money sent from the Centre...What support they expected from the Union

government?"

On reports of the formation of a new front involving Left parties, Akhilesh said his father and SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav would see what has to be done.
