Patna: A case of extortion has been lodged against JDU MLA Anant Singh in Patna. A builder has lodged a complaint in SK Puri police station alleging that Singh demanded 12 crores from him.

Singh, who is considered a close aide of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has several such cases against him.

In February, the 52-year-old JD-U MLA had to bite dust and vacate an open space in front of his plus hotel that he attempted to encroach upon in Patna's posh Patliputra colony. Singh has also been booked for assaulting an electronic news channel journalist Prakash Singh who had went to his residence in the state capital six years ago to seek his comments in connection with the murder case of a woman.
