Basu, Mamata in talks over Nandigram

New Delhi: CPM patriarch Jyoti Basu met Trinamul Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee to resolve Nandigram and Singur issue.

After the meeting, Mamata said the deadlock can be resolved if Basu took personal initiative in the matter.

Basu, in turn, said that Mamata’s approach to the deadlock was positive.

She has proposed that the Tatas be given alternate land in Singur itself, but land should be given back to farmers unwilling to part with it.
