Amar Singh invites Chiranjeevi to form fourth front
SP general secretaries Amar Singh, Sanjay Dutt held talks with Chiranjeevi.

Hyderabad: Already the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), National Democratic Alliance (NDA) were coping with the possibility of losing votes to the Third Front and now they might have to deal with a fourth front also.

Samajawadi Party (SP) general secretaries Amar Singh and Sanjay Dutt met Praja Rajam Party (PRP) chief Chiranjeevi in Hyderabad on Monday. This meeting was important as both Chiranjeevi and Amar Singh on Sunday hinted the possibility of forming a fourth front after the elections.

Singh and Dutt called on Chiranjeevi at his Jubilee Hills residence in the evening, party sources said.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday with Bollywood star and newly elected SP general secretary Sanjay Dutt in Vijaywada, Andra Pradesh; Amar Singh said a fourth front might emerge after the ensuing General Elections.

Singh said that with the support of Lalu Prasad’s RJD and Ram Vilas Paswan’s LJP, they have a total of 140 Lok Sabha seats in UP, Uttrakhand, Bihar and Jharkhand. He continued saying if PRP joins hands with them they would have fair chances to form the fourth front by achieving 80 to 100 seats out of the 182 Lok Sabha seats which included 42 from Andhra Pradesh.

Singh had expressed confidence that Chiranjeevi would sail with the fourth front as he was a secular leader and had already announced that he won’t join the Third Front because TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was in it.

Even Singh had refused to join the Third Front because Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's party BSP was included in the front.

However, Singh also clarified that if the fourth front could not take shape after the elections, the SP would support the Congress out of some compulsions.

“We are supporting the Congress with great difficulty though the latter was troubling us, he said and added that the SP was sailing with the Congress only because there was no Chandrababu Naidu, Mayawati, Advani and most importantly Narendra Modi in that party.”
