New Delhi: With speculations rife about the change of guard in some states like Haryana, Assam and Maharashtra, chief ministers have come knocking at Congress President Sonia Gandhi's doorsteps.
Days after Assam CM Tarun Gogoi met Sonia, it was Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda who met the party chief at her 10 Janpath residence.
The meeting between Hooda and Sonia comes as demand for a change of leadership has emerged in the northern states ahead of the Assembly elections. Hooda is criticised for his way of functioning. Senior Congress leader Kumari Selja had took on Hooda calling his leadership autocratic.
Congress faced a deafening defeat in Haryana in the Lok Sabha elections. Selja had then said that Hoods should have stepped down from his post taking moral responsibility of the defeat.
