India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is celebrating his 26th birthday today as he continues to recover from injury. Pant is widely known for his unmatchable energy, along with his aggressive batting style, making him a favourite- both amongst fans and in the locker room!

Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma wished Pant on his special day in a hilarious yet heart-warming post on microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter.

The post was accompanied by a video and it read, “Happy birthday, Rishabh. Stay awesome, bro! Your energy is off the charts! #unmatchable energy.”

In the video, Pant could be seen cracking up in a conversation as he finishes his cup of tea. The chucklesome clip perfectly summarises Pant’s jovial nature.

Rishabh Pant is one of the players India will be missing at the World Cup this year. He has been the architect of some of the most historic wins in recent campaigns. One of his most memorable performances came in the Gabba Test where the wicketkeeper-batter smashed 89 runs in 138 balls in the second innings of the fourth match.

His heroics helped India chase down a target of 328 runs against the mighty Aussies. In that match, Pant absorbed a huge amount of pressure as he accompanied four lower-order Indian batters to guide his side to an epic victory in Gabba for the first time in nearly 33 years. Pant last played for India in a Test match against Bangladesh on December 22.

Rishabh Pant missed some notable tournaments this year, including the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, the Asia Cup and the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has remained on the sidelines for the entirety of 2023 so far after being involved in a road accident in December last year. Pant reportedly lost control of his car before crashing on the road while travelling from Delhi to Roorkee. The Uttarakhand-born cricketer had sustained injuries on his head and right ankle and spent the major portion of the year recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Ishant Sharma last competed for India in a Test match against New Zealand at Kanpur in 2021. Even though the player has not officially announced his retirement yet, it is highly unlikely that he will be making a return to the Team India squad.
