PM Modi said he held fruitful and productive meetings with Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina and Mauritius PM Pravind Jugnauth.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with his Mauritian counterpart Pravind Jugnauth and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday ahead of the G20 Summit on September 9-10.

Both leaders were accorded a warm welcome at the New Delhi Airport to attend the G20 Summit from September 9-10.

“Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and I had a very good meeting. This is a special year for India-Mauritius relations as we mark 75 years of diplomatic ties between our nations. We discussed cooperation in sectors like infrastructure, FinTech, culture and more. Also reiterated India’s commitment to furthering the voice of the Global South,” PM Modi said following his meeting with the Mauritius Prime Minister.

PM Modi said he held fruitful discussions with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. “Had productive deliberations with PM Sheikh Hasina. The progress in India-Bangladesh relations in the last 9 years has been very gladdening. Our talks covered areas like connectivity, commercial linkage and more,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi is scheduled to hold 15 bilateral meetings over the next three days when world leaders gather in the national capital for the Summit. He will hold another bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden on Friday evening.

PM Modi said that these meetings allow India to bilateral ties with these nations and further strengthen developmental cooperation. “I look forward to productive discussions with world leaders over the next two days. I will also be holding bilateral meetings with several leaders and Heads of Delegation to further deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation,” PM Modi posted on social media site X, formerly Twitter, on Friday.

“It is my firm belief that the New Delhi G20 Summit will chart a new path in human-centric and inclusive development,” he further added.

Bilateral meetings with heads of states of the UK, Japan, Germany and Italy are scheduled to be held on Saturday on the sidelines of the G20 events. A working lunch with French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled for Sunday, news agency PTI reported.
