While hitting the gym may not be an immediate alternative for many, certain Yoga asanas can keep your reproductive health in top shape

Reproductive health, for both men and women, may be negatively affected due to certain lifestyle habits such as–smoking, regular consumption of junk food, caffeinated drinks, alcohol, unhealthy sleeping patterns, sitting in the same position for long hours, and many more. However, just like any other body part, it is imperative to take care of your reproductive organs. While hitting the gym may not be an immediate alternative for many, certain Yoga asanas can keep your reproductive health in top shape.

Popular Yoga teacher Smriti, recently, took to Instagram to share a few helpful asanas that you can do at home for a ‘healthy uterus’. Doing these asanas regularly will ensure hip mobility and keep you at the peak of health. The expert further explained that the asanas can be performed by men too. Take a look at the expert’s Instagram post here.

Badhakonasana– “The hip-opening asana is going to remove all the emotional toxins from your body in addition to heal your uterus and your ovaries. Inhale as knees go up, exhale as you come down," explained Vashisht. To perform this asana, begin with sitting upright with your back straight, knees bent at either side, and soles of your feet touching each other. Proceed to move as comfortably as you can while focusing on your feet.

Parivaritta Janu Shirshasana variation- This asana is effective for blood circulation and will ensure that your lower back feels stretched. To perform this asana, sit straight, and bend one knee while keeping the other leg stretched out. Remember to keep your core strong. “Inhale, hands up; exhale, down," the expert said.

Chakkichalan– “Why were our ancestors healthier than us? Because they would use products like chakki in their routine which would keep them healthy", the expert explained. To perform this asana, inhale as you go forward to backward. The expert suggested that attempting these asanas could be avoided if you are suffering from a slipped disc or severe lower back concerns.
